The Solana Beach Branch Library is a shared-use facility located on the campus of Earl Warren Middle School, and was developed through a partnership between the San Dieguito Union High School District, the County of San Diego Library system, the City of Solana Beach, and the Friends of the Solana Beach Library.
The floor plan was configured to allow optimum visual surveillance from the circulation desk. Internet computer stations are located across from the circulation desk to allow monitoring of usage. A large open area near reference materials allow middle school teachers to bring a class of thirty two students in for research and instruction in library usage. A work room and receiving area are located near the service yard for receipt and processing of materials brought from other branch libraries.
